Lauren graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (PCOM) in San Diego, California, earning both her Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) as well as her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine (DACM). She is licensed by the state of California to practice both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine.
Lauren grew up in Marblehead, Massachusetts, and moved to San Diego in 2005 to attend San Diego State University. She received her B.A. degree in Spanish Language with a minor in Psychology. After studying abroad in Costa Rica, she found passion in Eastern philosophy, Yoga, Taiji, Qigong, and Meditation. Lauren completed two, 200-hour yoga certifications and is 400-hour RYT certified. While studying to become an Emergency Room Translator and Interpreter, she found PCOM and immediately enrolled in the Acupuncture program. As a student intern at PCOM, Lauren spent time treating patients at the free off-site clinics in San Diego as well as the school’s Student Intern Clinic. Lauren also has experience treating in Santiago, Dominican Republic with The Global Clinic. She assisted Dr. Adrian Bean and Dr. Rick Gold at the Pacific Center of Health in San Diego for three years, learning techniques such as CranioSacral Therapy, Neural Manipulation, Shiatsu and Traditional Chinese Herbal Prescription. Lauren practices Japanese Acupuncture and Meridian Therapy, deriving from Classical Chinese Medicine. At PCOM she studied both Japanese Acupuncture and Kampo herbal principles under Dr. Elizabeth Talcott and William K.C. Conover. Lauren is passionate about exposing and making holistic medicine accessible and affordable to the whole of society.
